10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme@ Indian Navy

Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried male candidates to join Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala under 10+2 Cadet (B Tech) Entry Scheme.

Course: 10+2 Cadet (BTech) Entry Scheme (Permanent Commission) Course

Course training commencement: December 2012

Training: Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala.

During the course training:

• Cadets will be allotted Executive or Technical (Engineering, Electrical or Naval Architect Branch)
• After the completion of course: BTech degree will be awarded by Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU)

Benefits: Entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.

Eligibility: Candidates applying should possess a Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/ Board with at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Age: 17 to 19½ years (i.e. born between January 2, 1992 and July 1, 1994, both dates inclusive)

Physical Standards:

• Height and Weight: Min. height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
• Eye Sight: Min. acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

Selection process:

• Short-listed candidates called for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their PCM marks in 10+2/ equivalent exam.
• Interviews will be conducted on 5 days [Stage I (Day one) and Stage II (Four days)] consisting intelligence tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests (PPDT), psychological tests, group task tests, group discussion and interview.
