Air Force Common Admission Test: Flying, Technical & Ground Duty Branches and UES 2013

Applications are invited from Eligible Men & Women for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) -01/2012 for the Courses commencing January 2013 & July 2013 (for UES -2013)


Indian Air Force is calling male candidates for grant of Short Service Commission in Flying, Technical and Ground Duty Branches
Recruitment at: Indian Air Force

For: Male candidates

Course commencing January 2013  in the following branches:
o    Flying Branch: No. 11 short service commission course (11 SSC)
Technical Branch:
o    No. 82 Aeronautical Engineers Course (82 AEC) (Permanent Comission)
o    No. 54 Short service commission Course (54 SSC)
Ground Duty Branches:
o    No. 133 Ground Duty Officers’ course (133 GDOC) (Permanent Comission)
o    No. 26 Short service commission course (26 SSC)
Course Commencing in July 2013
o    University Entry Scheme (UES- 2013) (Permanent Comission)
Eligibility: 
Flying Branch
o    Age: 19 to 23 years as on January 1, 2013
o    Education qualification: Graduates (3 year degree course) in any discipline with 60 % marks and have passed Math and Physics subjects.
Technical Branch
Age: 18 to 28 years as on January 1, 20123

Education qualification: 
Aeronautical engineer (Electronics) AE(L):
o    Candidates applying for AE(L) Branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification and secured a minimum of 60% marks in all papers put together from a recognized university or  cleared section A and B examination of  Associated Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies.
o    All candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% Marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) AE(M):
o    Candidates applying for AE (M) branch would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification and secured a minimum of 60% marks in all papers put together from a recognized university or cleared section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies.
o    All candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together.
Ground duty Branches: Short service commission will be available in Administration & Logistics Accounts, Meteorology and Education.

For post graduates/ LLB (Five years integrated course)
20 to 25 years
For LLB (Three years course after Graduation
20 to 26 years
For M Ed/ Ph D/ CA/ ICWA
20 to 27  years

Selection process: Appear for Air Force common Admission Test (AFCAT) to be conducted on February 26, 2012 at one of the examination centers.

Training commencement: First week of Jan 2013 for all courses except UES- 2013.  The duration of training for Flying and Technical Branches is 74 weeks and that of Ground duty Branches is 52 weeks at Air Force Training Establishments.
