IIT-Madras is one among the foremost institutes of national importance in higher technological education, basic and applied research. It was established after the first Indo-German agreement was signed in Bonn, West Germany in 1959.

Eligibility: The minimum academic qualifications to apply for admission to the MBA program at IIT Madras are as follows:

• B.E./B.Tech. (or equivalent) with First Class (or equivalent) from a recognized Institution or University
• A Masters degree with First Class (or equivalent) in any discipline from a recognized Institution or University.
• Final year students (of the above-mentioned program) are also eligible to apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally, on the condition that they complete all requirements for the qualifying degree before the start of the program and produce provisional certificate of completion within two months of joining the program.

Reserved seats: The Institute follows Government of India norms on reservation of seats for SC/ ST/ OBC (Non Creamy) candidates and persons with disability.

Selection process:

• DoMS requires candidates to have a valid score on the Common Admission Test (conducted by IIM), or a valid GMAT score.
• Based on the CAT scores, candidates are short-listed and called for the next round.
• Candidates are required to appear for a group task and personal interview on the specified date and location.

Final selection to the program depends on:

• CAT/GMAT score
• Academic record
• Letters of reference and
• Work experience, if any
• Group Task & Interviews are conducted at Mumbai, Delhi & Chennai
